The Angels acquired LHP Scott Kazmir from the Rays for 3B Matt Sweeney, LHP Alex Torres and a player to be named later.
The Halos get the starter they badly need while the Rays, who always envisioned Kazmir as their ace, part ways with the lefty who has lost velocity this year while acquiring 3 prospects. Seems like a win-win for both teams. Kazmir may be in line for a few more wins down the stretch with the move to the West Coast.
Boy, could the Mets use Kazmir this year!
