Diary of a Fantasy Sports Wife-September 2nd

Fantasy fever has taken over the radio!  As I was driving today host of the show started to talk about how she’s lost her husband to fantasy football and she already can’t wait until that wonderful day in February…the day after the Superbowl.  She posed the question to callers about how they handle their husband’s fantasy seasons.  Many women called in and the overwhelming population of listeners felt the same way… they HATE it!  They feel “left out”, “ignored” “widowed” and “frustrated”.   However, there was one caller in particular that sparked my attention.  She said “When I first got married I hated sports.  I didn’t know the difference between the hockey puck and a football field.  Now I root for the Red Sox, Brett Farve and the Celtics.  I figure if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em”   The host asked “Why such a turnaround?”  One simple answer.  She said “I’m very smart.  I decided to start to participate in sports because now, he has no choice but to go shopping with me!” You see, it always comes back to the shopping!

Personally I can’t say that I’ve hopped on the fantasy bandwagon, but over the years I have found that the information has seeped into my brain.  I know statistics that even make Adam look twice.  (like who won the 2002 NCAA tournament)   Of course Adam has also learned some new words too.  Prada, Gucci Louis Vuitton and Chanel just to name a few.  And just wait, the next 2 nights in my house are fantasy football draft nights...oh joy!
